Privacy Policy — CodeFinder

Last updated: 2026. On this page we explain what data is processed when you use CodeFinder.

1. Responsible party

The CodeFinder website (https://www.codefinder.website) is an informational tool for looking up OBD2 trouble codes. You can contact us through the contact page.

2. Data we collect

CodeFinder does not require registration and, in principle, does not collect personally identifiable data to provide its main search function. We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal data to use the finder.

3. Local storage (localStorage)

To remember your language preference, the site stores a small technical preference (the chosen language) in your browser's local storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers or to third parties, and you can delete it by clearing the site data in your browser.

4. Cookies and third-party technologies

CodeFinder uses third-party services that may install cookies or similar technologies on your device:

4.1. Google AdSense

The site may show ads through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. The use of the DART cookie allows Google to serve tailored ads. You can disable personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or by visiting www.aboutads.info. See Google's advertising policy.

4.2. YouTube embeds

The site embeds YouTube videos to show solutions related to each code. When you play a video, YouTube/Google may collect data and set cookies according to their own privacy policy. We use the youtube-nocookie.com domain for a reduced-cookie load, but the processing is performed by Google.

5. Use of information

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. Data processed by third parties (Google) is governed by their own policies and is used to show ads or play multimedia content.

6. Minors

This site is not directed at minors and does not knowingly collect information from them.

7. Your rights

Under applicable data protection law (such as the GDPR in the European Union), you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection regarding your personal data. Since we do not collect personally identifiable data for the main function of the site, most of these rights refer to data processed by third parties, which you can manage from their own settings panels.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to the site or to the law. The "last updated" date at the top of the page indicates the current version.

9. Contact

For any questions about this policy, write to us through the contact page.
